evaluation, and grant-writing services. The firm has over four decades of experience providing

data-informed solutions across the social service sector. Metis supports its clients’ missions and

pridefully builds their capacity with its knowledge, skills, and technical expertise. The firm seeks

Grant Writers to support current and future client needs. Grant-writing clients include public

school districts, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and other public-private

entities.

Overview

Qualifications are requested from professional, experienced grant writers. Metis’s goal is to

identify a pool of qualified grant writers contracted on a project basis to assist clients in

pursuing government grants, primarily from federal agencies. Metis will consider qualified

contractors for one or more upcoming projects, depending on client needs, contractor

experience, and availability.

Requirements

The Grant Writers selected would serve as consultants to Metis Associates and help shape initial

program designs/grant concepts and produce, revise, and prepare draft and final proposals for

submission to government agencies on behalf of the firm’s clients. The Grant Writer will meet

proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering from

other contributors. The Grant Writer will work closely with Metis senior leadership, team

members, and clients to submit funding proposals responsive to grant guidelines and deadlines.

Qualified contractors will have a demonstrated record of successful grant applications submitted

to federal agencies such as the US Department of Education, the US Department of Health and

Human Services, the US Department of Labor, the US Department of Justice, and the National

Science Foundation.

Candidates must have excellent organizational, research, and time management skills and the

ability to work independently and collaboratively. Candidates must demonstrate excellent

communication and interpersonal skills and have previous experience engaging effectively with

senior managers, researchers/evaluators, program-level leaders, and client delivery staff during

the proposal design, development, and review phases. Candidates should demonstrate solid

analytical and advanced writing skills.
